Sasha lived a long and happy life. She was a very special family member to us and we feel lucky that she lived for almost 17 years. We adopted her from the Barrie Humane Society when she was about six months old after they had found her wandering in the country. A cross between a Collie and a Shepherd, she had the best characteristics of both breeds. Sasha was always happy and friendly and yet she was a great guard dog. She loved to chase the ball, large or small. We couldn't play a sport with a ball in it without her running away with it. And she was fast! She loved to be with people and lived her life around what we did. Wherever we were, she was there too. She had the most wonderful disposition. Because we had three cats when we adopted her, we were concerned as to whether bringing a large dog into the home was a good idea. . We soon found our fears disappeared as they all got along famously. She would even step in to mediate when they had disputes with each other. Sasha loved car rides and would just wait for the signal that she was coming. Such excitement! As Sasha got older we had to make modifications for her but with her sense of adventure she accepted any changes. She loved her food, particulary the last few years when she had homecooked food every night. We will always miss her and we're thankful she was with us - we could not have asked for a more wonderful companion.
