Dr. Fisher graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1958. He moved to Barrie and began working with Dr. Fleming at the Barrie Veterinary Hospital.
The Barrie Veterinary Hospital was originally a mixed (large and small animal) practice. Dr. Fisher performed large animal medicine during the day, and small animal medicine in the evening.
Dr. Fisher attends continuing education seminars nationally and internationally and is actively involved in many organizations. In his years of veterinary medicine, Dr. Fisher has received many awards. In 1999 he was awarded the “Veterinarian of the Year” presented by Hills Canada. He also has received an Award of Honour from Purina Pro Plan and appreciation awards presented by the Alliston and District Humane Society, Orillia and Barrie Humane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
