Dr. Lawrence graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1980. After graduation, she worked in mixed practice (large and small animal), at the Smylie Animal Hospital in North Bay.
She continued mixed practice when she joined the Pine Ridge Veterinary Hospital in Cobourg in 1981. Dr. Lawrence joined the Barrie Veterinary Hospital during 1983.
She regularly attends continuing education meetings with the Georgian Bay Veterinary Association in Orillia, to keep up with the many advancements in veterinary medicine. She also researches difficult cases on the Veterinary Information Network, which the Barrie Veterinary Hospital is a member. In 2003, Dr. Lawrence attended a continuing education course in dentistry at the Ontario Veterinary College.
During the summer months, Dr. Lawrence spends her free time gardening. During the winter, you can find her and her family on the ski slopes.
